As Marketing Creative & Social Media Manager at Innovative Arts, I have created content and managed social media marketing for the past four years, resulting in a 25% follower increase on Instagram.
In addition to performing in the stage musical, senior Music Theatre students at ESA take on tech roles behind the scenes. Along with the publicity team, I marketed the show in a variety of physical and digital forms, by embracing the chaotic and comedic nature of Urinetown: the Musical.
The Innovative Academy of the Dramatic Arts (or IADA) is a private arts high school offering high school credits in musical theatre disciplines, offered at the Innovative Arts studios.
The school was created by Sophie Lea McLeod in response to the TDSB's recent restriction of specialty programs to students residing at addresses with postal codes beginning with M (in other words, living in Toronto). This means students in the Greater Toronto Area are no longer able to attend schools like the Etobicoke School of the Arts. IADA allows students to take classes developed in a similar fashion after school, which are credited on their high school transcript. These classes are specialized to music theatre voice, and acting disciplines, as opposed to general drama classes offered at many schools.
Upon IADA's inception, I aided with creating the school's brand design and marketing the launch event. I also provided insight in program development as a current ESA student.
In 2021 and 2022, as Communications/Publicity Representative, I was in charge of marketing Council initiatives on our social platforms.
